• Analyze headquarters program and budgetary guidance.
• Identify requirements short-falls and trade-offs and prepare appropriate supporting documentation.
• Allocate funds to individual activities/functional areas based on an analysis of activity budget estimates, historical expenditures, projected workload, and approved funding.
• Provide local budget policy and procedures, budget formulation assumptions, and format and schedule service organizations for budget submissions.
• Receive approved fund targets for assigned accounts.
• Review, analyze, edit, and consolidate budget submissions.
• Formulate and justify a segment of the command budget, and a major segment of the organization budget or a total budget for one or more funds.

• Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) evaluating continual changes in programs funding to recommend budgetary action; (2) analyzing budget estimates for project funding; AND (3) providing financial advisory recommendations in accordance with budget policies and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
