Analytical Materials Lab Technician (m/f/d) - Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg
We are looking for lab technicians to perform routine quality inspections and support failure analysis processes for our state-of-the-art Tesla battery cell & drive unit manufacturing program. In this role, you will work closely with other lab technicians under the guidance of lab management to conduct material analyses with the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. The work environment is demanding, fast-paced, and incredibly exciting.
What You'll Do
- Conducting routine quality inspections for cell & drive unit manufacturing and working closely with material scientists, engineers, and technicians

Performing a variety of standardized routine tests on battery cells and related materials (e.g., chemical analysis of raw materials, microscopic examinations, testing of mechanical properties, analysis of powder properties, and electrical measurements)

You evaluate test results and prepare laboratory test reports

Participating in process optimization measures

Support in commissioning new laboratory equipment and creating and developing quality-relevant documents

You are responsible for 5S activities and hygiene standards in the workplace.
- Preparing the inventory of used materials and chemicals and perform preventive maintenance as needed
What You'll Bring
- Technical vocational qualification as a materials tester, chemical laboratory technician, or a comparable qualification

Several years of professional experience in a quality or chemical analysis laboratory and have already worked with material analysis equipment (including CT, rheometers, moisture analyzers, GC (MS/FID/TCD), ICP-OES, acid-base titrators, SEM, DMA, and DSC)

Experience with disruptive quality inspections
- Experienced in handling chemicals and hazardous substances

Ideally, you already have some experience in battery manufacturing and testing related cells and raw materials

You are willing to work in a shift system

Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Good English language skills. German is an advantage
