As a Trainee New Energy (m/f/d), you will be part of our New Energy team and closely collaborate with colleagues across trading, logistics, and project development. From day one, you will be fully integrated into our day-to-day business and work on forward-looking projects that support the transition to sustainable energy solutions.
You will gain a comprehensive understanding of both our traditional energy trading business and our growing New Energy activities. Your role will contribute directly to developing new business opportunities in areas such as advanced biofuels, hydrogen, and synthetic fuels.
Throughout the 2-year program, you will face exciting challenges by working on diverse projects, supporting strategic decision-making through market analysis, and contributing to innovative solutions for the future of energy. At the same time, you will benefit from close guidance through a structured program, including mentoring and development opportunities.
Perform laboratory analyses: You carry out chemical and physical testing in the field of mineral oil analysis according to standardized test methods and evaluate the results.
Apply chromatographic techniques: You work with HPLC, GC and GC/MS methods and interpret analytical data to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Test fuels and fuel products: You perform engine and performance-related testing of fuels and fuel products and document the findings in line with quality standards.
Maintain laboratory equipment: You are responsible for the maintenance, calibration and upkeep of analytical instruments and testing equipment.
Support customers and quality processes: You provide technical support to customers regarding test results and contribute to quality management documentation.
Ensure smooth laboratory operations: You manage laboratory supplies, including chemicals and consumables, and support the implementation of new analytical methods and equipment.
Academic Background: Successfully completed master's degree in economics, energy management, sustainability, international business, or a related field.
First Experience: Initial experience in energy, project management, or commercial roles (e.g., through internships or apprenticeships) is an advantage, but not required
Interest in Energy Transition: Strong interest in the development of sustainable energy solutions and renewable energy market dynamics
modelling.Digital Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with data analysis, visualization, or business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Python, or similar) is an advantage.
Analytical & Data-Driven Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with complex datasets, develop structured insights, and support decision-making through quantitative analysis and financial
Language Skills: Fluent in both English and German
Curious & Driven: You are eager to learn, take initiative and enjoy contributing to a dynamic work environment.
Team-oriented & Communicative: You collaborate effectively with colleagues, build strong relationships and communicate confidently with different stakeholders.
