• Practical optometry/clinical vision science experience, in-store optical retail experience

• Experience in digital product management and development

• Knowledge of regulatory and data privacy frameworks in vision care

• Optometry / clinical vision science: Deep understanding of eye anatomy, refraction, centration principals and clinical standards as well as practical experience as optometrist or optician.

• Technical product development: Experience collaborating with software engineers and hardware designers to translate clinical requirements into digital solutions. Ability to assess measurement techniques and their limitations.

• Business & Strategic Acumen: Capacity to evaluate commercial viability, align product specifications with D2C market demands.

• Project Management: Skilled in leading cross-functional projects, including managing timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communication.

• Regulatory/Quality Awareness: Ability to understand optical device safety, privacy, data protection requirements and regulatory standards.

• Communication: Effectively communicate clinical and technical concepts across diverse teams and stakeholders

• Consumer Experience Focus: Understanding best practices for online customer education, self-testing UI/UX, and post-purchase support

• Innovation Mindset: Proactivity in identifying new measurement methodologies and scouting global trends in remote ophthalmology.

• Data Analytics: Know-how in analyzing and interpreting measurement accuracy, system performance, and user data to improve online testing algorithms

• Accountability and ownership: High degree of accountability and ownership – able to own topics end-to-end, make decisions within scope, and deliver results independently in a dynamic environment
