Pros

-Hybrid-Flexible work arrangement is very welcome. -Generally supportive colleagues and a lot of smart people to talk work about. -They will pay for your graduate degree if it is relevant to your work. -Pay is good for what it is. -Work with interesting clients who are often not as directly accessible to most of the market. -Good exit opportunities.

Kontras

-Too many tech changes every quarter, you don't have a time to breathe before they roll another innovation or improvement out. -The new performance scale and forcing people into buckets has everyone on edge. If you are understaffed why make people feel like they are at risk for layoffs or not performing as strong as they think they are- there are bound to be people that are disappointed. Particularly in positions that require niche expertise, are difficult to fill and already having high turnover rates. -The politics is noticeable and MDs are always being moved around. -Analytical process for certain deals can take forever to execute and are overly cumbersome. -There is not enough deal support and combined with tight turnaround timelines it can be a lot to deal with. It's a constant revolving door of extraordinary stress followed by a short burst of "slow" periods, where you're expected to go out of your way to work on some other side project or commentary they expect of you. -Not a family office environment at all if that matters to you. Most people are very muted and reserved. Expect to know little to nothing about your work colleagues. -Once you want to make Director you have to wait for someone above you to leave, in which case, you get in line with everyone else who has been waiting.
