Pros

Envisioned CEO. JHH is full of passion, and always looks ahead of the crisis. Cutting-edge technology, smart pals, open and transparent culture. Full-of-go-go attitude in most of the teams/departments (except for facility & C&B). Local HR did a good job, even better than global HR. You can always find a piece of work that you are interested in, if you are not super picky. The benefits, health care etc. is valuable, although the compensation is so-so. There are so many legendary gurus (in US) that you can turn to, and usually they are nice to a junior. First line managers are nice and professional.

Kontras

Matrix management sucks. I don't think site management understand nor care about the project progress or technical challenges. All they care about is just hire more people. Local facility is poor. Bad planning and execution. Sucking attitude to employees. Why they are not performance reviewed by a local manager? IT policies are confusing and de-productive. I felt I'm not respected when my request to access a technical document is rejected due to "IT policies". Glass ceiling for senior members.

Pros

Management is competent and actually cares about employee welfare. Jensen is the least sociopathic CEO I've ever worked under. The work has been interesting and I was actually allowed to do things right, and not just "right now".

Kontras

The company is 3X the size it was when I joined, with all the usual problems of massive growth. And of course the AI hype at Nvidia is intense.

Pros

NVIDIA's PTO and Sick policies are compassionate and generous. Managers listen to employees' ideas. Employees get to work on a wider variety of projects than expected, and usually work closely with other teams to get things done. Collaboration is tight almost all of the time.

Kontras

Employees don't always get insight into why they were assigned a particular project, or have much if any choice about what projects they get to work on. Managers are often too busy working on projects themselves to have the free time to meet with employees on a regular basis. This leads to short-term, reactive thinking rather than long-term visionary thinking.
