Today, we welcome Proofpoint’s newest summer interns! This year’s intern class joins us from across the world, bringing fresh perspectives and a passion for learning and innovation. Over the next few months, they’ll work alongside various Proofpoint teams, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to transformative projects. We’re looking forward to the impact they’ll make this summer. Welcome to the team!
Protecting our planet starts with everyday actions, and when we come together, those efforts create meaningful change. Through our Protect the Planet campaign, employees are joining forces to support sustainability, reduce environmental impact, and make a positive difference in the communities where we live and work. In partnership with One Tree Planted, our collective efforts also contribute to global reforestation and build a healthier planet for future generations. At Proofpoint, we’re proud to champion collective action that empowers our teams to create a more sustainable future.
At Proofpoint, supporting our communities is an extension of our commitment to protecting people and a reflection of our BRAVE employee culture in action. Through our Q1 Acts of Service initiative, U.S.-based employees came together to pack over 1,000 care kits, prepare and serve meals, and donate wish list items for families supported by Ronald McDonald House Charities. Whether volunteering time, participating in giving opportunities, or supporting local activations, we are proud to offer comfort, care, and connection for our local communities.
When an attacker gains control of a user's legitimate M365 or cloud service account, they can access the victim's entire workspace. But attackers don't stop there. Everyone that user is connected to is also a target. Click the link below to learn the key tactics that cybercriminals use to compromise accounts.

This week, Proofpoint is at HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition, the largest global health information technology conference of the year. Day 1 opened with the Healthcare Cybersecurity Forum, where our Chief Strategy Officer, Ryan Kalember, joined Robert Maclay of Stanford Children’s Health and Kristen Ray of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) for an expert panel that examined AI in cybersecurity. When asked, “As AI reshapes the threat landscape, what will be the most critical security priority for healthcare organizations?” Ryan emphasized that understanding user intent—particularly around access to sensitive patient data—will be paramount. Connect with us and continue the conversation this week at one of our many HIMSS26 activations.

This Valentine’s Day invite came with a payload no one asked for. 💔 As February 14th nears, Proofpoint researchers warn of malicious Valentine’s Day-themed lures and threats. ⚠️ The screenshot below is of an actual lure recently sent from a compromised account. This example, which was observed and blocked by our team, leveraged legitimate remote monitoring and management (RMM) as a first-stage payload. RMM attacks can result in data collection, financial theft, lateral movement, and the installation of follow-on malware, including ransomware. Cybercriminals will always attempt to capitalize on current events, and Valentine’s Day is no exception. Such lures are designed to appear as legitimate emails from trusted sources, increasing the likelihood that a target clicks or engages. 💌 Proofpoint recommends that organizations: • Train users to identify and report suspicious activity • Restrict the download/installation of any unapproved RMM tooling • Ensure networks detections alert on any activity to RMM servers
Proofpoint’s senior leadership team recently spent time volunteering at Hidden Villa in Los Altos, CA, supporting its mission to advance sustainability and food access. Through hands-on work across the farm and gardens, our leaders stepped away from the day-to-day to give back together, living our BRAVE values and making a tangible impact in the community. Thank you to the Hidden Villa team for hosting such a meaningful experience
