Since 1974, National Volunteer Week has honored the impact of volunteers on community strength and resilience, and we're proud to carry that spirit forward. When our associates volunteer, it creates lasting benefits for individuals and families and helps us live our purpose. Honoring MLK Day Through Service Today, on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Harris Teeter associates came together to live out Dr. King’s legacy of service, unity and community uplift. We were honored to once again work alongside the Young Black Leadership Alliance (YBLA) of Charlotte, an organization deeply committed to identifying, educating and developing young Black leaders to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond. Together, our team of VolunTEETERs packed 30,000 meals with care, encouragement and enough energy to support those in need. A huge thank you to all our associates who chose to spend their day giving back, and to YBLA for the incredible work they do year-round.

5 food banks. 150 Volunteers. 9,500 meal bags packed. 38,000 people fed for the Holidays. Harris Teeter just wrapped up our annual Holiday bag packing events. These events take months of preparation — from merchandising and logistics to coordination with food banks and our Harris Teeter volunTeeters. It’s a true team effort, and we couldn’t do it without the heart and commitment of our community, food bank partners and associates. We hope these bags have a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. These events help us live our purpose, to enrich lives: one meal, one associate, one family and one community at a time.

Harris Teeter is proud to announce its continued growth with the opening of several new store locations across the Harris Teeter region, which include expansion into new markets for the company. The expansion marks a significant milestone in the company’s mission to bring high-quality, fresh ingredients and exceptional customer service to more communities. The new stores – slated to open over the next couple of years – will serve communities in Jacksonville, Fla.; Clemson, S.C.; Kannapolis, N.C.; Lake Wylie, S.C.; and Fort Mill, S.C.
