Pets play an important role at Elanco, even if it's just their photos being used to make people smile. At our Elwood and Kansas City offices in the US, the halls are lined with team member pet photos with an engraved plaque featuring the pet's name and their employee owner. Not only does this allow everyone to see their furry friends every day, but it's a fun reminder of our purpose, passion and commitment to helping animals.
What a year it has been at Elanco! In 2022 we broke ground on our new global headquarters in downtown Indianapolis, expanded our portfolio in both pet and farm animal health, increased our global volunteerism with over 10,550 hours of employee service and made waves in sustainability, converting our Kiel, Germany manufacturing site to 100% wind energy. We are grateful for the people behind the blue slash who came together to continue making Elanco a global leader in the animal health industry. As the chapter on this year closes and a new chapter opens, we look forward to innovating and delivering products and services that make life better for animals.
Our nine Employee Resource Groups support the needs of our employees and make our culture more inclusive. Each of our ERGs include active involvement from employees across demographics and are sponsored by an executive leadership team member. These groups build community and support development and business growth throughout the company.

We’re excited to release our 2021 Environmental, Social and Governance report - “Changing the World, One Animal at a Time." The report highlights our progress on relevant #sustainability topics and metrics, expanding on our inaugural 2020 ESG Summary. Through our #ElancoHealthyPurpose approach, we continuously integrate opportunities to improve the health of animals, people, the planet and our enterprise into our core business operations. We’re now proud to look back at recent accomplishments.
Over the weekend, 250 colleagues from our Warsaw Elanco Solution Center and Commercial team experienced in-person connection again. For many, it meant seeing each other for the first time in more than two years. Together, they enjoyed each other’s company while giving back to their community. As a team, they made countless kennels and sniffer mats for dogs in a Warsaw shelter, played 145 matches and games and came together to drum rhythms in synchronization. What better way to experience that team feeling again?
Why do we Pride? Pride is about celebration. It is about love and community. For Elanco employee Robyn Keiter, the most important part of Pride month and Pride festivals worldwide is the visibility. Robyn had always known she was attracted to men and women, although as a young girl, she didn’t have a word for it. Read how she was introduced to the larger LGBTQ+ community and learned a term that could describe her vast attraction spectrum.
Especially after the events of the past 24-plus months, it’s crucial that we equip ourselves with strategies and tools to take care of our mental health. Elanco has embraced the idea of supporting our employees in times of mental health crises and other wellbeing issues. At the end of 2021, a group of volunteers completed training in the Mental Health First Aid program. Our focus is to be a source of support and resources for colleagues who are struggling with mental health concerns. Recognizing when a colleague or employee is struggling can be vital to making sure they get the support they need in a timely manner. Read more on our website and get tips from the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) curriculum to recognize if your colleague is struggling.
Our Q1 2022 results underscore consistency as we report another quarter of delivering against expectations with revenue, adjusted EBITDA and adjusted EPS all exceeding the mid-point of our guidance. Despite an increasingly challenging world, the work we do to support protein and pets has proven to be essential. The role of pets as our constant companions has increased pet owners’ expectation of care for them. Meanwhile, access to sustainable and affordable protein is no longer something taken for granted. Our Elanco team wake up every day focused on supporting our customers to deliver on this purpose.
#DYK How many times more often do men interrupt women than other men? Almost 3 times more often. Breaking the bias is about allyship. We all fall into bias traps and therefore, at Elanco, we support each other to learn what to do and why it matters to challenge bias when we see it. Happy International Women's Day!
