At Elanco, we believe that a healthy world starts with healthy animals. Our commitment to animal health extends beyond providing safe and effective products. It also involves nurturing the next generation of researchers and scientists who will drive the future of animal health. That's why we have established the Elanco Scholars Program, which links individuals within our talent programs as interns, post-doctoral scientists, and Fellows with additional training, networking and career development opportunities.
25,000. That’s how many hours our global team has committed to volunteering by 2025. Last year, our team recorded more than 23,600 volunteer hours supporting causes to improve animal welfare, community services, food security and education worldwide. But that’s just the start. Officially one month out from our annual Global Day of Purpose- an event to kick off a month of giving and volunteerism- our team is gearing up to make this year our biggest yet! hashtag#WeAreElanco hashtag#GDOP2024
Two of our team members, Amanda Kephart, Executive Director of U.S. Customer Experience and Brianna Brown, Global DE&I Recruiting Strategy Leader, have been selected as part of 2023 Seramount Working Parents. We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Amanda and Brianna for their well-deserved recognition.
We are dedicated to transforming animal care through science. “I’m really excited about the next era of Elanco’s innovation,” says Dr. Jennifer Miller, veterinarian technical marketer, about our canine parvovirus treatment and bringing other innovative solutions to pet owners and to pets. October as our global purpose month is just around the corner. We encourage and support our Elanco team members to volunteer for causes important to them. In the first six months of 2023, Elanco employees have volunteered more than 4,000 hours. Volunteering is a great way to create memories, see your community in a different light and improve your own mental health.
Being at Elanco is about being connected to the culture and community, not only of the company but other team members, their families and the local area. See some pictures how our headquarters in Greenfield, Indiana, celebrated Elanco Day - a day in which employees bring their families to visit the office, play fun games and, of course, pet some animals. This year included a group dog walk as part of Pet Partners “World’s Largest Pet Walk.” We had a preplanned walking route complete with dog treats, people treats, shady areas and water stations.
What’s the best part about being a summer intern at Elanco? “The best part is meeting all of the wonderful employees and being welcomed into the company’s culture with open arms,” said Jack Schwartz, R&D Intern. But don’t just take Jack’s word for it! “The best part is the community within the company,” said Alex Speak, R&D Intern – Regulatory and Pharma. “My favorite part of the day is talking to employees, learning about their current roles, career paths and educational experiences in addition to their lives!” For Ethan Wallace, Automation Intern at our Clinton, Indiana manufacturing site, the best part is “the overall inclusion and the fact that there’s always something new to learn.”
