For the third consecutive year, our Clean Harbors Strong team took part in the Boston Jimmy Fund Walk to raise money for cancer research. Huge shoutout to our walkers and to everyone who donated and supported them along the way!
We’re proud to be a member of the Veteran Jobs Mission coalition, which just reached the milestone of hiring more than 1 million veterans since 2011. Supporting those who’ve served is incredibly important to us, and we’re committed to helping veterans and military spouses build their careers here at Clean Harbors. We’re ready for the coalition’s next goal: hiring two million veterans and 200,000 military spouses by 2032!
We want to thank all our interns who joined us from across the United States and Canada for their hard work, commitment and enthusiasm this summer. Over the last couple of months, they’ve worked alongside employees on projects in the field, participated in leadership development sessions and joined in on executive talks to gain a better understanding of our business and the potential careers associated with their majors. We’re incredibly proud of what this talented group has achieved – and we know great things are in store for them!
For more than four decades, we’ve led the way in solvent recovery — including exceeding the tight specifications required to produce EV battery-grade NMP (N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone) through our first-of-its-kind distillation process. The magic happens at our Chicago plant, which leads the way in us collectively recycling more than 16 million gallons of solvent annually! With the accelerating demand for electric vehicles, the need for ultra-pure materials like NMP has never been greater. Our product not only supports a circular economy, but helps businesses minimize waste and customers meet their sustainability goals.
Congratulations to multiple HPC Industrial branches in East Louisiana for being honored at the Gulf Coast Safety Council’s 23rd Annual Safety Excellence Awards in Luling, LA. HPC teams were recognized with several Injury-Free and Outstanding Safety Performance awards across key client sites for exceptional safety outcomes throughout 2024. With over 500,000 work hours across locations and zero recordables, HPC’s recognition highlights its unwavering commitment to safety as a core value and operational standard. As noted by leadership, these achievements reflect a culture where safety isn’t just a policy—it’s a daily mindset. 👏 Hats off to the teams living that commitment every day!
Here at Clean Harbors, we recognize our employees are what drive our success. To celebrate Employee Appreciation Day, we treated those at our corporate office to a complimentary lunch, and we loved that our human resources department created a poster where employees could write the name of a colleague they value. Thank you to all our employees for your hard work and dedication – we couldn't do it without you!
Safety-Kleen Motorsports was front and center at Daytona 500 weekend! On Saturday, Thad Moffitt drove the 46 Toyota in the season-opening race for the ARCA Menards Series, marking the first time the Clean Harbors company Safety-Kleen brand has been the primary scheme for a car at Daytona. On Sunday, Jimmy Johnson and the LEGACY MOTOR CLUB (co-owned by Richard Petty and others) finished third overall. Safety-Kleen is a sponsor of Legacy Motor Club as their official environmental company. Safety-Kleen-serviced JR Motorsports had a strong showing in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and Cup Series, with their first ever Cup Series entry finishing in the top 10. It was an honor to once again support so many teams and drivers across the entire racing world. We’re excited for all that’s in store for Safety-Kleen Motorsports in 2025.
