Pros
Amazing, intelligent and fun colleagues, who genuinely care about the products, customers and and the mission of the company. You receive quite a lot of autonomy and resources needed to do your best job and if you can think about a process improvement you can run with it. There is a very unique internal development procedure meaning that you receive very useful feedback on a recurring basis and as soon as you feel ready to take on more challenges, you can initiative the career growth program. Whilst it needs ongoing thought, cross-team and location collaboration is prioritised helping to mitigate some blockers previously seen in the company. It is nice to get to collaborate with various colleagues across many countries. There is a significant emphasis on Diversity and Inclusion in the company and in my opinion this is very impressive for a medium sized company like SumUp. The Berlin office is really nice, hardware and systems are top of the range. Despite the very dynamic and busy workload, there is a huge emphasis on work to life balance.
Kontras
There is not always an answer to every question and sometimes you might need to chase around the find a correct process or person to support. Very dynamic working environment, can border on chaotic and I believe not everyone would thrive in such an environment. Whilst there is work on the topic, a continued and bigger effort needs to be made on cross-team and location collaboration.
