Pros
Lots of hard-working individual contributors who show up and give their all every day. A handful of good leaders who try to do the right thing.
Kontras
There is no ethical or moral compass guiding decision makers for this company. It has been mismanaged for so long that the state has finally had to go on site to oversee the financial decisions in order to ensure claims are going to get paid. The working environment is so toxic, it's a wonder they have any employees left. From what my contacts who are still there tell me, if everyone who is looking for a new job finds one, there will be only a handful of employees left to do the work created by the overly top-heavy C-suite. If you are reading this review and considering applying at or accepting an offer from Moda, do yourself a favor and run away as fast as you can. Reading the current media storm about how dire the financial situation is, requiring the insurance division intervention is a clear indicator of the trajectory of where they are heading. Sadly, instead of strong, ethical business practices that follow a sound well-thought out business plan, this company has been scrambling in a reactionary mode for so long, they think that's the norm and call it being agile. The decisions at the top are made purely to feed massive egos rather than doing what's right. There is a different set of rules for employees versus supervisors and above. Employees are expected to follow every rule set forth in the handbook, however leaders, particularly directors and above, can get away with unthinkable behavior. Bullying and general disrespectful treatment towards employees is not only tolerated but rewarded through promotions and other perks. In an ethical company, every employee regardless of rank is held to the same behavioral standards and expectations.
