An open environment. Perhaps too open. - QA Lead bei Glassdoor: Mitarbeiterbewertung

Pros

Management is smart. Every move is analyzed and deliberate, and there have been few mistakes. There is a lot of transparency -- everyone knows where we are, where we've been, and where we're going. The team works hard and has delivered some impressive releases -- nearly always on-time, and often with only minor fire-fighting after the fact. The working environment is very open. Most of the engineering team is in a large space with no walls, so communication can happen at any time and everyone has the opportunity to overhear something that may impact what they're doing.

Kontras

The open environment is a mixed blessing. If you don't like others' taste in music, or if watching "The Office" makes you cringe, you'd better be comfortable with headphones. Hardly a day goes by without my hearing something that I'd have preferred not to have heard (often in the "music" category, but every once in a while an off-topic comment will slip by) and some days it really affects my productivity.

Pros

The benefits and culture were probably the best I've ever had. Even better than the benefits were the people I worked with. I enjoyed coming into work and doing my job and really stood behind the company tag line of helping people find jobs they love.

Kontras

During covid things started getting bad. Like many other companies layoffs came around and how the company handled those were terrible. You show up one day and next thing you know you lose access and cryptic email and then your'e gone. This happened again in 2025. They brought in person whose job it was to basically get people to leave. They didn't care about the content on the site, or any of the efforts in place to promote integrity and transparency and instead just wanted to shove AI down everyone's throat. What's sad is that Glassdoor was once a great company that I was proud to say I worked for. Now it's just like everywhere else, AI, AI, AI and trying to get people to quit before the next round of layoffs.
