Despite preparing coverage and training for my responsibilities, I was later described as leaving my team “high and dry.” There was also a shift toward a more structured, closely managed environment, along with a return-to-office policy that was applied differently across employees. It was a reminder that the end of an employee’s experience often reflects the culture just as much as the beginning.
