I responded to an ad and was contacted by a recruiter who acted as though I just hit the lottery jackpot for being contacted about this "opportunity". He proceeded to give me details of the work and inflated income expectations. Was told I'd be contacted by a manager in my area for a phone interview. About a month later I get the call from the area manager. The call was what I'd call a sales pitch. As expected, there was hype about the "potential" income as well as the abundant workloads. After agreeing to give the job a shot, I met with the manager later that week at one of the local retail locations that the company services. At this point I'm informed about what a typical day looks like, then more fluff about income potential. I was never interviewed. It was the manager trying to convince me that I should take the position. Not even trying to find out if I had relevant experience or if I even would be a good fit for the company. Seems as though they are desperate for workers as there is an exceptionally high turnover rate. There is a lot of misleading as far as income, workload, and the time it takes to assemble products.
Over the phone interview that lasted for less than 10 min. The company was mostly looking for bodies. They wanted to know if I was able and willing to perform tasked asked of me.

Not very formal, and had me assemble some stuff on spot to see if I was a good fit. Informal method of an interview to see if you were good with your hands.
