Versiti was proud to join the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, and Royal Capital at the June 6 ribbon cutting ceremony at the new ThriveOn King community health hub. Following the ceremony, Versiti hosted a blood typing event to help donors see if they are a match for someone needing rare blood.
June 14 is World Blood Donor Day – a day to promote blood donation & celebrate YOU. This year, we challenge you to beat our daily goal of 1,464 red blood cells. Do you accept the challenge (& your donor center cookie)?
Versiti volunteers are the heart of our organization and bring new and unique levels of expertise to our donors and staff. Volunteers give their gifts of time and talent and make our lifesaving mission possible.
“There are world-class experts here in Milwaukee, uniquely focused on blood research. It’s allowing us to pursue important work.”
African Americans have higher rates of diabetes and high blood pressure than the white population. These conditions put patients at risk for needing organ transplants and blood transfusions. Your hashtag#NationalMinorityHealthMonth donation is crucial: https://lnkd.in/gNi3yxpW
What an amazing opportunity to advocate for Organ Donation, let’s keep working together to save lives!
