NKT signs framework agreement with Nexel to supply low- and medium-voltage cables for grid upgrade projects To support the growing electricity needs of consumers, Cerius-Radius and their joint operating company, Nexel, secure their future supply of power cables for grid upgrade projects by entering a framework agreement with NKT.
We have won the order for two high voltage power cable projects from Amprion GmbH supporting the German transition to renewable energy. With the order, we reinforce our position as the leading provider of power cable solutions for the "Energiewende" and consequently invest in additional high-voltage capacity at our existing factory in Cologne. With a combined value of the projects of approximately EUR 1.2bn, we continue the positive development from 2023 and increase our high-voltage order backlog to approximately EUR 12bn. NKT President and CEO Claes Westerlind says: "We are excited to continue the long-term collaboration with Amprion in their ambitious development of the power grid supporting the transition to renewable energy. With this award, we leverage our local footprint, strong commitment to sustainability and confirm the strength of our high-voltage power cable capabilities.
