Meet Eddie, our Senior Software Engineer who joined the Engineering team in August! 🤠 Upon first meeting him, Eddie is sociable and friendly; he has a keen interest in traveling to new cities and is curious to show you footage of a recent trip or adventure from his GoPro camera. 📹 As Eddie mainly works remotely from Portland, Oregon, he had the opportunity to visit Berlin for our company-wide Summer Summit off-site this summer to meet all our Inkers in person. He also flew to our San Francisco office to align on strategic goals and bond with his team during the US Engineering Summit in the autumn. 🌎✈️ He describes his experience as, “Going out with the team in-person sparked camaraderie through shared stories; especially for those of us in remote positions where that in-person connection is often missed. Through the stories, many of us discovered shared interests and hobbies, such as fitness, digital art, life hacks, cooking, games, and more. It’s already led to some virtual hangouts and sharing of our latest game or life hack.” ✨ Read more about him in the link below!
It’s official: We’ve moved our HQ to San Francisco! 🇺🇸 🎉 At Inkitt, we obsess over our readers and authors, and with over 50% of our users being in the United States, we felt it was necessary for us to grow our team in the region. The new location will give us more visibility into the needs of the market and also enable us to accurately prioritize our users’ needs. The U.S. represents the leading book market 📚 in the world– so doubling our office footprint in the region supports our overall growth strategy. We’ve got big aspirations, which means we’re looking to bring on more highly-talented, creative, and driven individuals to our team. From Engineering and Product to Growth and Author Relations— we’re eager to welcome new team members who are passionate about our mission of identifying new, up-and-coming storytellers and building an avenue for writers to realize their aspirations of becoming published authors. 📢 We look forward to welcoming new Inkers in the Bay Area and in Berlin! If you’re interested in joining us, check out our open roles at inkitt.com/jobs.
On August 24-26, we had the pleasure of coming together for our first Summer Summit company off-site event! We gathered 86 of our Inkers from the US, Canada, Russia, the UK, and other countries in Europe for three days of team-building activities, interactive workshops, and fun, social dinners. 🎉 From breaking down Story Intelligence A/B testing in our stories to brainstorming revolutionary ways to reduce our Customer Acquisition Costs to developing disciplined habits in our personal and professional lives, we acquired a better understanding of how many departments operate while developing a better understanding of each other as team members and unique writers and creators! We also invited three Galatea authors to join us for a short panel and trivia game! It was such a humbling experience to meet them in real life and learn how they became inspired to write their best-selling books! 😍 On our last day, we celebrated with new and old friends, dancing the night away with drinks, donuts, and foodtruck goodies! 💃🕺 Where in the world will the team reunite next?
