Grede is happy to announce our partnership with Airstreams Renewables, Inc., a renewable energy technician program designed to train recent military veterans for related careers. 98% of their candidates and trained employees are coming off active duty military. This partnership creates a direct candidate pipeline for our skilled trades positions and direct career opportunities for veterans. Starting this month, we’ll connect with candidates at military-related career fairs. Grede proudly sponsored and attended the American Foundry Society's Metalcasting Congress in Milwaukee at the end of April. Grede is highly involved in the American Foundry Society. We were a gold sponsor, and over 20 Grede team members took advantage of the technical courses, panels, keynote sessions, and networking opportunities. Two of our very own taught technical sessions. Manager of Foundry Engineering Kyle Peterson PE led a session about adopting 3D sand printing in a production environment, and Senior Product Engineer Patrick Kluesner taught a class about casting material properties. We were happy to visit with peers and suppliers, such as Elkem, Grede's largest alloy provider. Grede partnered with the organization in November of 2023, and we’re happy to announce that we’re continuing our partnership this year! 🚘🚗 Not everyone is fortunate to have the mobility they need to explore their world. Mobility is a human right, and play is the best way to get that done with kids. Last week, we celebrated #SkilledTradesDay throughout Grede. 🛠🎉 Our skilled trades workers in Brewton, Alabama, were given pocket-sized tools and snacks, while the skilled technicians in Meadville, Pennsylvania, and New Castle, Indiana, were provided various treats. Each of our ten facilities recognized its skilled trade workers in various ways, even if we don't have the photos to show for it. Maintenance technicians can increase their earnings based on newly acquired skills (six levels) from the knowledge gained through training in Casting College, Grede's e-learning system.
