ESA’s satellite Sentinel-2, was launched on 23 June. Sentinel-2A, Europe´s next Copernicus satellite in Space, is being readied by engineers from Airbus Defence and Space for a 23 June 2015 lift-off. Copernicus is an operational programme led by the European Commission (EC) in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA). The Copernicus Sentinels supply remote sensing data of the Earth to deliver key operational services related to environment and security. CRITICAL Software engineers also participate in this mission. Well done!
Did You Know? To be launched in 2018, ESA’s next generation sun explorer is the result of a joint collaboration with NASA that will provide the closest ever view of our sun. CRITICAL Software is working with Airbus Defence & Space UK on the specification, design, development and testing, as well as the overall qualification of parts for use in this spacecraft. With a mission aim of answering the question of how the sun creates and controls the heliosphere, the spacecraft will need to collect data in-situ.
