"Bike for Environment" Challenge Purpose: To raise environmental awareness and promote sustainability through exercise and tree planting. Introduction: In 2022, our EMEA team launched the "Bike for Environment" challenge, where employees logged kilometers ridden on exercise bikes or personal bikes. For every kilometer logged, Canadian Solar planted a tree. Result: This initiative led to the planting of 410 trees, plus 726 trees for employee work anniversaries, offsetting about 24.9 tons of CO₂. All trees were donated via GROW MY TREE, making a significant environmental impact.
Japan's New Office Our previous office, used for over a decade, was constricted and split across two floors—sales, marketing, and operations on the 4th, and back office on the 8th. This layout discouraged face-to-face interactions, leading employees to prefer online meetings. The relocation process took three months and involved all employees, with many team meetings held to collaborate on the new office design. Now, we occupy a single spacious floor with an open setup that enhances collaboration. The office includes a small showroom for our products, benefiting both employees and customers. Quantitatively, face-to-face interactions have increased, boosting productivity and team dynamics. Qualitatively, employee feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, contributing to a more vibrant workplace culture. Additionally, our new location in a business district improves accessibility and visibility to clients.
