"Have you ever spotted something off with your cloud setup that wasn't in the plan? You've just met "configuration drift" - it's what happens when the real state of your infrastructure doesn't match up with what your configurations say. Manual fixes, other tools stepping in, or just random glitches can cause this mismatch. Here's where it gets tricky: this configuration drift can start a cycle of worry. You tweak a setting, but then, your infrastructure code doesn't match, and doubts creep in about making more changes. It's like being stuck in quicksand - the more you struggle to fix things manually, the deeper you sink. So, how do you break free? Think disposability and reproducibility. Make your systems so they can be set up, duplicated, and packed away again as smoothly as packing a suitcase. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools are our escape tools. They keep everything aligned - what we have is what we expect, with no surprises. The goal? To regain that confidence in your deployments, knowing your IaC has your back. "From one Boozt tech office to another: Vilnius, Lithuania - Aarhus, Denmark These two of our tech locations have the longest physical distance from one another, so visits may be less frequent. However, that's just physical distance. When you enter the office, you get the feeling that it's your place as well, that you belong here, even though it's your first time in the location and you're trying to find out where the cup for coffee is 😃 One may think it's strange to state this, but it's actually normal when you look deeper. It's the same culture, same thinking and complexity within challenges, same willingness to share views, to collaborate and try to do what's best for the company and each other. So here we are - the majority of Aarhus's office gathered in the canteen to discuss the Boozt Platform Ambassadorship. We went through five activities - none artificially created or somehow landed to execute. They are all reflections of noticed practices already happening in any of our locations - some are more popular in one location and may not be thought about in another. And they are all relevant as they're based on real experiences and feedback from our colleagues. This meeting confirmed once again that we're on the right track with this initiative - it is as it should be, not more and not less, nothing to push but everything that makes sense for us.
