Please think twice before joining this company, here is what I wish I knew before I joined:
- Be ready to work on weekends! They will mention it as an "opportunity" in the interview, but in truth they will force you to work on weekends. They wanted to force us to work on Sundays, even though it is illegal in Germany and the manager was very well aware of that. You will be forced to do it (they will add your name in a rotation sheet, you won't chose your days) & you won't get compensated extra for working on a weekend if you take a day off in the week (in order to work 40 hours in a week and not more). Be aware, they will take advantage of the fact that you are a foreigner and you don't know the German law. If you speak up they will bully you badly.
- The salary is not AT ALL competitive with the German market.
- The managers are very manipulative, will make you a lot of false promises in order to motivate you in the short term, but whenever you will need help don't count on them, they won't help you, because they actually have no clue of what they are doing. The people who get into management positions are the very rare people who make it more than 1 year in this company. But if the boss does not like you, you won't get a promotion, no matter how valuable you are.
- Also expect to be micromanaged from above. Nothing will be explained or taught to you, but you will be expected to deliver as if you were a senior.
- IT'S NOT A HYBRID JOB. Don't expect to work a lot from home or abroad, the more time passes and the more you will be forced to work in the office. We had 2 corona cases in the office, no one was wearing masks and we were still forced to come to the office.
- Salary discrepancies based on your nationality.
- They are massively understaffed. You will be very surprised by the turnover rate (often less than 5-8 months)! Therefore, when someone in your team jumps off and quits, you will be the person covering their work, even though it doesn't correspond to your work description. Don't expect extra money for doing a 2+ person's job!
- No one will onboard you, you will be expected to learn everything by yourself and in no time. You will struggle in the beginning, because they have no structure of organisation and all the info lies in the Teams Chat as well as in the 1000 Excel sheets they create.
I can only recommend you to take your time to find your job. Most of the people I know that worked in this company, wouldn't stay longer than 6 months to 1 year, because the conditions were unbearable. If it sounds too good to be true, it's because it is & because they lie to you about the work conditions. The issues within the company have been flagged 1000 times, but they don't care enough about their employees to take action, because it's their whole business model!
