Pros

Have enough time to do detail design. People from all over the world are friendly, can learn different cultures and languages.

Kontras

UX is not great. Copies are even worse.

Pros

I worked at Taroko for a number of years. I loved going in the office, getting to the whiteboard, and tackling the next challenge with my team. My experiences were incredibly valuable and were a boon to my overall career development. Here are just a few of the pros of working at Taroko: - Supportive, hardworking coworkers - Endless opportunities to learn and grow in your role - Challenging projects that make an impact with tangible results - Encouraged to try new techniques, tools, software, etc - Collaborative and fun working environment - Stocked kitchen

Kontras

- lack of clear company direction - project processes can be overly informal and ill-defined

Pros

Some fine people on both sides, as they say.

Kontras

They'll probably try to get my review taken down (they try for every negative review, no matter how true) but working here is just not a good experience for anyone. I can set aside all the things said in prior negative reviews and it still wouldn't be worth working for such a ridiculous group of managers. Low level employees are mostly okay, we're mainly former english teachers but some of us aren't. Everyone is relatively competent and does what they need to do to earn a (pretty pathetic) salary. The management, however, is horrible. Self-absorbed, manipulative, incompetent, and just generally jerks. They make it very clear that you are not valued as an employee or a colleague. If you ask for more money, you'll be told you do better than taiwanese marketers do (which isn't actually true....) so you shouldn't ask. If you have ideas for how to improve current marketing practices to match what goes on in the US, and you get told your idea is stupid without any further explanation. Then they end up struggling to drive traffic and start wondering what went wrong. At the end of day, if you need to take this job, take it, do it for 6 months, and quit. Othrerwise you'll be stuck there for a long time. Having seen how people get after working for Taroko for several years, I started makng plans to peace out before I started resembling any of them.
