Pros

The salary was competitive and there are some great people trapped here.

The work environment is the definition of toxic. People are laid off every month. This includes critical and well-respected experts who are an endangered species, with no clear reason or explanation other than "business reasons". Absolutely no effort is made to retain or develop talent. They just hire back another batch when they think they need more people and do it over again. When you can't figure something out because people are too new bring in the consultants who are the partial experts because they've been called in so often to complete 50% of the work before deciding they are too expensive. The turnover situation is so bad there is almost nobody there that has any decent understanding of many of their critical systems. Good luck if you need something fixed in a timely manner, or if you are new and looking for help to get up to speed. Nobody feels they have job security or is happy. Despite this senior management is completely oblivious of the extremely risky situation they are in. They consider everything a top priority and set wildly unrealistic timelines that are laughed at as absurd by all who know better but weren't consulted. Despite high turnover at the senior level as well the same issues persist and are not getting any better. If you don't understand the branding Zepz = Worldremit (Toxic). Sendwave, which seemingly was once a nice place to work, is in the final stages of being devoured and destroyed ask everything becomes Zepz. The benefits are not great and getting worse.

My own journey here has been one of constant evolution spanning multiple roles within the People Team. During my tenure, the culture has matured significantly, moving from a "merger" phase into a unified, high-performing fintech with clear "Next-Gen Commitments": Outcomes, Velocity, and Integrity. Zepz is unapologetically high-performing, and for those who are curious, resilient, and cognitively agile, the professional fulfillment is immense. Pros: - Mission with Heart: Everything we build is centered on empowering cross-border communities and celebrating the impact migrants have on global prosperity. - Growth & Discovery: It’s an "adventure" environment where you can sharpen your skills on big, "sticky" problems that actually transform the working environment. - Performance Pays: There is a real commitment to ensuring that getting performance right pays dividends for our people, with a rewards strategy that differentiates impact. - Remote-First Flexibility: We focus on objectives and outcomes rather than desk time. But, expect to be held accountable for your outcomes, or lack thereof.

Cons / Reality Check: Not for Everyone: If you prefer a slow pace or highly prescriptive roles, you will struggle. Self-motivation and a "bias to action" are non-negotiable. Velocity is High: The pace is relentless. The ability to self manage and maintain a high level of personal accountability is an absolute requirement. Constant Evolution: You have to be comfortable with change and ambiguity. Expect to routinely operate with less than ideal information and/or time.
