Pros

The discount - that's it.

Where to start... I currently work overnight in NYC. Its been a nightmare from the day I started. While a good amount of the overnight "leads" are great - one or two need serious MANAGEMENT training. Extremely condescending and belittling. I find it disgusting when they yell "Get over here now". And you're expected to run like a dog to whoever is calling for you. You're expected to work at fast past otherwise if you don't finish the morning team is irritated by the amount of work they are expected to do. Sick time - that's joke. Even if you have a doctors note, you will still be written up. Death in the family - written up. People have been working there for years and still not fired but the new people coming in, forget it. Textbook favoritism. On the job injury - be careful when getting hurt, especially if its your partner that you are teamed up with that night accidentally injures you, you will be called in to take a drug test - not your partner. Go figure. Let me clarify... this review is for the NY locations (Lexington Ave and 6th Ave). the Lexington Avenue location is the one you need to avoid. The people are the worst there. The turnover rate is disgustingly high because the managers do not know how to manage or speak to their employees. The 6th Avenue location is the place to be all of the managers and employees genuinely are nice people and it seems like a great place to work especially those looking for a day time job. Also, it's the money maker.

Pros

Everyone from director level on down in my department was great. Very collaborative. Gave you autonomy to do and try new things.

Kontras

Where do I start…Sr. Leadership is TERRIBLE. I mean absolutely horrific. No direction and plans were changing at the drop of a dime after the BB&B “merger”. You could feel the shift in the culture, just NASTY attitudes and taking the employees for granted. The new CEO and the rest of Sr. level execs acted like everyone was just expendable workhorses. They touted reopening the headquarters cafe as some awesome benefit so they could bring people back to the office full time. If you’re going to be bullish and require everyone back, have some guts and just do it. But don’t act like a cafe is some life changing benefit to get everyone excited. Anyway, blind leading the blind. The merit increase or raises - non existent. No 401k match. Nothing positive because the company is so broke. The new store concept sounds a mess. Save yourself and don’t even apply, let alone accept an offer. Joel Bines is no longer the CEO. He was a great guy and I think he had great ideas. Marcus Lemonis is the new CEO and I would give him a thumbs down.
