I used to work for Target back in 2013-2019, I left because I felt the opportunity to grow was vague. I also felt that I couldn't speak my mind or be honest about the environment I was in. As I received various degrees and experience over the years, I decided to give Target a try again. I applied for the Specialty Sales Team Leader Role at Target and found it to be a challenge as soon as I started. These are the reasons why I decided the company didn't change; I didn't feel supported in my role and the only time I felt supported was when I spoke the truth about wanting to leave. Working off the clock was a normal thing as this is frowned upon within Targets work like balance standards. Taking a last 15 minute break was hard due to the workload. There were plenty of instances of favoritism and nepotism where other team leaders get to pick and choose what they want to do. Setting time aside for my training was also a challenge. Seeing how Team Members are treated, I don't find myself wanting to work in an environment where they aren't being treated fairly because I did see unfavorable actions from higher ups. This location is not for the health and well-being of its associates or team leads. I have team members coming to talk to me from different areas because they don't want to speak to their direct leaders. I see oppressive behavior within the work environment Also, making employees nervous or scared to speak out. One of my previous team members exhibited this behavior. Reviews for team members were past due. I didn't get any time to complete reviews and since I was a new team leader they didn't instruct me on the process until after the due date and employees' new pay rate were added to their pay stub. I found that this was a way to deter employees from asking for a raise by not letting them know of the review process. No ETL mentioned to team members about completing the TeamVoice Share yours Survey - This is essential as it leads team members to speak their mind about their position, policies, and leadership at Target. I also realized that the QR Code to complete the survey vanished out of the TSC a week before the due date for the survey which is May 12th. I realized the code was nowhere to be found on May 6th, 2024. On May 17th, 2024 I realized that the pair of tech keys that I need for my department are missing. I called out over 3 times over walkie and no one responded and there were 3 etls in the building. I feel like this is retaliation because I decided to leave and put my leave in on May 16th, 2024.
