Pros

Does a paycheck count, I'd pass.

Kontras

Toxic work culture. CEO is a narcissist who plays favorites with one person only, his right hand man who gets a pay raise and new title every few months. He is the only person to win an award three times. People work 60+ hours/ week but it's never enough. There's a handful of people at the top who make $200k+ / year while everyone else kills themselves for entry level pay. CEO & his lackey literally live like rockstars and everyone else experiences this strenuous, toxic environment. Don't waste brain cells or years of your life here. Work life balance is non-existent.

Pros

I always had something to work on. I learned a ton about AI and by writing programs that actually used both. I gained exposure to how a software team operates. The other employees were welcoming and kind. Being in NYC is a fun experience.

Kontras

The NY office is small, with only a few employees in every day.

Pros

Not too much to comment here.

Kontras

This was one of the most challenging work environments I’ve experienced, primarily due to structural and management issues. 1. Lack of middle management There is a noticeable gap between junior employees and senior leadership. Many employees leave within 1–2 years, while others remain long-term in upper management roles. This creates a disconnect, where leadership may lack visibility into day-to-day team challenges and employee experience. 2. Management concerns I experienced inconsistent communication and limited support from my direct manager. At times, expectations were unclear, and there was a lack of adaptability despite working in a market research environment that should value new ideas and evolving perspectives. This made it difficult to do my job effectively and grow in the role. 3. Frequent organizational changes The company frequently shifts direction, sometimes multiple times within a year. While iteration can be positive, the lack of stability and follow-through made it challenging to execute work consistently. Overall, I found the environment to be under-stimulating and difficult to navigate, and I would encourage candidates to ask detailed questions about management structure, team support, and long-term direction before joining.
