Pros
- Varied work (PI Historian, coding, PLCs, etc), if that's something you like - Any skillset will get incorporated *somehow*- you'll be made useful regardless of experience level - There are some incredible engineers here - Fun company events - Plenty of free food
Kontras
- Projects will be undersold or misunderstood at the sales level and the engineers will need to make up the difference. Happened on almost every project. - No overtime pay and a *LOT* of overtime work - Management will not intercede on failing projects even if you raise the alarm multiple times - Customer comes first, engineer comes last - There were at least 3 projects where heroics were required to make it a success after a lead abdicated their role - Less than competitive pay - Management can and may deny vacation even if you request it far enough in advance (and haven't used all your vacation days which don't roll over into the next period) - Only work here if you sincerely love the work and that's your only interest. There won't be a work-life balance
