Pros
I feel lucky everyday to be employed at Risepoint. They are remote first, which is so important to me. I am surrounded by supportive, intelligent, thoughtful people who are flexible in terms of deadlines especially if a research product needs more time & revision - I never feel rushed or forced to put out a product I can’t stand behind. Despite all of the organizational changes after the acquisition, my day to day changed very little. I am constantly given opportunities to grow in my role and take on new tasks if desired. I feel that management is very honest and transparent; they host town halls frequently and give a chances for Q&A when possible, which is appreciated. Leadership is always looking for ways to be more efficient, which I think is a plus. Great maternity leave benefits, I was never even considering starting a family at my last role but now I think it could be possible in the next few years. Overall an amazing company to work for. Change can feel scary, but it is absolutely vital for organizations to be willing to change and adapt.
Kontras
Less PTO than I had at Wiley and losing half-day Fridays in the summer was unfortunate. I am paid more in my current role so it’s an okay trade off, but more PTO (regardless of seniority) would be really optimal.
