Pros

There are some amazingly smart women who work here from all around the country. Unfortunately they all quit <6m into their jobs.

Primer hires mostly contractors for unicorn positions. People are expected to manage clients, make landing pages, make their own creative AND run ads to hit unrealistic client expectations. The kicker is that you can't actually contribute. There are rules everyone must follow regarding how they manage clients. One is always having your first slide be POSITIVE and HAPPY. People churn after a few months, including management because they don't want to be forced to post screenshots to prove they've done something or be responsible for executing on a totally unrealistic plan management agreed to with a client. Clients think there are designers making landing pages or dedicated creative on their account, but that is definitely not the case. Recently Primer put in place middle management that's on a total power trip with no leadership potential whatsoever. If you want to take a vacation or not be on call all the time this isn't the place for you. Also, the platform itself is so poor that you're doing most of your work in Facebook Ads Manager or directly in Google's UI. Clients can't even login to see their results. All of this culminates to a roster of clients that turnaround on a weekly basis. If a client lasts two months there's a celebration.

You have the opportunity to really take ownership of your work. There are lots of other smart, kind and talented people to bounce ideas off of

Pros

A lot of exposure to different strategies and ability to really test due to the fast paced nature of working at any agency. Some really good (talented) people, I had great work relationships with people that I would consider friends.

Kontras

Every toxic thing you’ve heard about agency life, you’ll find most of it here: long hours (they applaud you for working late or working when sick), favoritism, micromanagement, everything is urgent, required to work on approved time off and holidays, lack of any real training for new employees (sink or swim heavily emphasized here). Company purges each year and lays off a ton of employees. This is always odd as the CEO regurgitates the positive outlook of the company constantly. They laid off about 60% of employees 2 months ago along with multiple employees quitting. They currently are looking to hire more South American members after letting go of US employees because it’s cheaper or kept the cheapest US employees that are sub par.
