Pros

- Most importantly, good free lunch 😄 (joking) - Great colleagues, - Great culture, international environment - Fun work - Interesting, high quality product - Company trips and parties - Fair salary (at least for me😜 ) - A scale up company, which means not bearucratic like corporates - The company is personal and human - Very good internal tools and tech stack. No Microsoft and Atlassian bs - Good perks, for example free plane ticket to a random destination every year - They respect async communication, low meeting culture. - You get a brand new laptop, you even get s choice of screen size - Good office in Vijzelgracht, Amsterdam

Kontras

- Workload: Constant high workload, stress and crunch time. In general we are expected to deliver pretty quickly. Unrealistic expectations and missing goals are the norm here. I see people working extra hours, either because of passion or pressure. All in the name of “ambitious” and “excitement". - Pension is meh, it needs your contribution - Limited growth opportunities if you want to climb the ladder. - If you prefer remote work: you're expected to be 2 times per week in the office - If they “exit” or grow big, things will probably change, for example it might turn to a corporate or regulated company.

Pros

- Great vibe in the company, friendly & knowledgeable colleagues - Good balance between ambition to grow & having fun - Strong culture, the company lives up to its values - Exciting product with good traction + growth - The company cares and pays attention to details, from designing the app to creating an inclusive environment - Stable financial position, not dependent on external funding - Fun company stage: there is strong product-market-fit, there are enough people to get things done, yet the company is still small enough (~70 people) to know everyone personally

Kontras

- This might not be a good fit for one if you're planning to move up the ranks fast due to it's flat organization. Polarsteps has many experienced individual contributors who are happy to operate (and keep operating) in such a role. Due to the size of the company, there are not many management roles (which is great actually).
