Pros

You will be exposed to industry leaders and potentially hear some great speakers. Compensation offered is the bare minimum but at least it exists.

Kontras

You will rarely be appreciated for the work that you deliver, you will be continuously overworked and underpaid and be asked to be grateful of the privilege to work here. The office has a nasty culture of telling on one and another and is super isolating. It is deemed you should be grateful to WFH Monday and Fridays. If you can't come into the office Tuesday - Thursday, say you have a drs appt or the plumber coming round, then you will be expected to take a sick day as you are not allowed to WFH Tues, Weds or Thurs. The Executive Leadership Team gave themselves a real pat on the back after implementing new silverware after the last annual staff survey - the only change to come out of the annual staff survey. You may apply for one position and have your job role change completely with no warning and discover this as it is being announced in one of the company meetings. Screaming matches in the office are a common occurrence as this is how the leadership prefer to lead and is very much how the top down culture works. The VP of Education considers himself to be above everybody (even the CEO) and the CEO has no idea on how to talk to anyone outside of ELT. There is no work / life balance working at PCMA, you will be expected to be on call at all hours which is especially tough for those working outside of HQ on varying timezones. Promotions and pay raises only happen once a year despite work loads being added to outside of job descriptions. Remote workers are treated like kindergarteners and must ask for permission to leave their city (roles stated as remote are not true remote roles FYI) and you are not allowed to work outside of the country you are based in (unless you're one of leaderships favorites, then they find a way). Only the LATAM region has been able to retain staff, EMEA has had a turnover of 5 people in 10 months - team size of 8 - and APAC 3 people in a year - team size of 4. ELT will lie about why these people have left forgetting that we are friends with these people outside of work. The ELT have no care for staff welfare, when working the major events (CL, Convening EMEA, EduCon) and you go above and beyond your hours then you will be compensated with 1 day off at the end of the event instead of any time back. There is little planning into looking after team members onsite and no preparation into preventing staff from working 6am-midnight/1am for 4 days straight. There are no clear cut process for the events and attendees have started to become aware of this in recent years especially now that COVID can't be used as an excuse anymore. ELT are constantly at each others throats making comments about the others and trying to turn team members against other ELT members, it's crazy and reminiscent of high school. Even crazier is how intoxicated these ELT members get at industry events, HR should really be activating the drug testing mentioned in the policy manual. I would not recommend anyone I care about to work at this organization unless they are in the LATAM region.

Kontras

Play favorites. Management more like a clique. Talk to you like a child. Management talks to each other behind your back and its super obvious Working here was just a very poor sad experience for me. I did find a challenging and so amazing position after this with lifelong friends and knowledge!
