During the extensive interview process, you meet everyone from potential teammates to team leads to department managers, which leads to the appearance of an open work environment. It is not. I’ve been at the company nearly a year and have yet to have a single skip-level meeting although I was told during the interview that they happen frequently. Employees are asked to provide feedback, but that feedback is not well met and rarely considered for future changes. The inconsistency in processes and guidance often leads to employees being corrected by management who each have different interpretations of how things are to be done. The micro-managing from a majority of team leads creates a depressing environment where there is a complete lack of trust and work product is overwhelmingly criticized. Employees are told ad nauseum that they were hired for their experience, but that experience seems to mean very little as the leads and managers spend countless hours calibrating you to their personal preferences.
