I've worked at multiple companies and had a variety of managers, and this was by far the worst experience. I’ve never felt so negatively toward an employer, and those feelings started within the first few weeks. - Toxic culture of overwork and no work-life balance The company doesn’t invest in growing its employees - they expect you to constantly grind, with no regard for balance or development. From day one, I was working nights and weekends. That wasn’t the exception - it was the norm. People were reviewing PRs, posting in Slack, and working even during vacations and holidays. Leadership clearly expected this pace. - Extremely stingy with benefits Several benefits had been cut in the recent years. No 401k match. Stock options don’t begin until after your first year, and even then, they’re minimal. Internet/phone reimbursement is minimal. Compensation was nothing to get excited about. - Remote culture with zero effort to build connection There was no sense of community - no happy hours, no virtual events, no check-ins to foster team connection. Everyone was either too busy or too burned out to care. - Demoralizing environment From the moment I joined, it felt like I was constantly being beat down. There was no support, encouragement, or interest in helping people succeed - just pressure and unrealistic expectations. The company doesn’t care about you as a person, only about how much work they can get out of you. - Unlimited PTO is performative “Unlimited” time off sounds great on paper, but people were guilt-tripped or quietly penalized for actually taking time. It was obvious you were being watched for how often you were “not around.”

Targeted Outreach: The recruiting team (specifically Jon) does an incredible job of identifying talent. I was discovered via LinkedIn, and I was impressed by their ability to see how my unique background and previous skills would be an asset to Mark43. ​Communication: Best-in-class communication. I was kept updated at every single stage of the process, so I never felt left in the dark. ​Human-Centric Approach: The process felt personalized rather than automated. It’s clear they value the person behind the resume and have great foresight regarding how different skill sets can contribute to the company's mission. ​Efficiency: From the initial reach-out to the offer letter, the timeline was clear, organized, and professional.

Senior leadership is toxic and opportunistic. They micro-manage, silo, and manipulate lower direct reports. No clear career growth strategy for individuals. Lots of org changes and management shifts. Internal culture is super toxic, political, and outdated.
