Pros

-Continued education through LeadingIT is decent. They will pay for certifications and the voucher for the exams, once completed they give you a small salary increase. But so will ANY MSP you go to. -The L2 and L3 teams are very knowledgeable and are willing to help the team in any way possible -The company buys lunch on Fridays for the Woodstock office. -HR and the CIO are great to work with.

Kontras

To start I want to assure you that in every response below the reviews are directly from the CEO and he states how excellent LeadingIT benefits are, and how LeadingIT takes care of its employees. Well LeadingIT benefits are practically the same as any MSP you want to work but worse and you will be highly underpaid, underappreciated, and overworked but you should be okay with this as they pay for your medical insurance (Anywhere does). The CEO is oblivious to the issues at his own company and he pats himself on the back for all the achievements his technicians have accomplished for him. His whole image is built on the same technicians he could care less for, you are just a number to him, he would rather be petty and let amazing technicians leave than pay them what they deserve and to top it off, go on LinkedIn and express how he has made 7.6 million in revenue and a "cool" 1 million in profit. He is the actual reason for LeadingIT's downfall. The technical team, especially on Level 1 has had a high turnover. If I were to guess within the last year there have been over 20 techs that have left and new hires are in. Level 1 has had two Team Leads resign and now the Level 2 Lead is on his way out. The CIO is Amazing but has been worked to the bone, and has built this company up to its success but the CEO again could care less. The CEO strives on an "Organically increased client base" but this is false, LeadingIT has bought out 4 Technical businesses and taken over their clientele, one of those businesses all the techs left or were fired. LeadingIT has Zero competitiveness in the field over any other MSP as is at the point where growing exponentially is more important than taking care of the techs that helped keep this sinking ship afloat. Management will then fire technicians for practically nothing so they can get new staff with more knowledge in but will make sure another tech who creates ER situations weekly, fails to help the team, and won't listen to his leads has a job and continues to to skate by without any repercussions. ACCOUNTABLE is a company value management can't even follow. The CEO is rarely in office, maybe once a week and is highly disconnected from this technical staff. If you want to make any more compensation in any role here, it has to be "Tied to a metric" or associated to a completed certification. The CEO can't look at how hard a tech or techs are working, or how much they have taken on to help with service delivery to get a raise. There is no incentive to work hard, no performance-based increases, and lastly, the 3% cost of living raise EVERYONE gets is used as a "Well you just got a raise" attitude. Lastly, LeadingIT has a culture index requirement when applying, if you do not get Craftsman Specialist or Technical Expert you will not be hired or even make it to an interview.

It appears that I personally upset you and I'm sorry for that. Had we spent time together and talked through this I'm sure there would be a different story here and maybe even an overall different outcome. Of course it’s me responding, at the end of the day I'm responsible for everything in this company. I certainly agree that I'm not perfect, in fact, I've never run a company that has grown this large and every day I'm figuring out the next steps to our continued growth. I'll reiterate our side of our story as I usually do. We are a DRIVEN fast growth company and that may cause us to often have our issues. Our work this year implementing EOS/Traction has certainly helped us and shined a light where we need to make changes. While our total year over year growth was 80%, our organic growth was in fact 22%. It is because of this continued growth that we can continue improving pay, paying 100% benefits, increasing a 5% 401k match and a lot of other fringe benefits. Without growth, a business dies. Yes we use metrics and KPIs to hold team accountable, shouldn’t we if we want to be successful? Yes we pay ~3% cost of living annual raises, usually paid quarterly, when most companies do not. Yes we pay 100% of health benefits (even families), VERY few companies do this. Yes we need to care about making money, if we don't, we would “die” as a business. Yes we have acquired companies, and yes it can be difficult, challenging, and a great opportunity for everyone involved. Yes articles have been written and published about us and our growth, shouldn’t we celebrate that? Almost half of our technical team are amazing team members who provide immense value to our clients and our company. They are consistently high performers who do more than just their role requires. They take on new challenges, they pursue additional knowledge, and they have a positive attitude. They are paid on average 15% over “market rate” AND have their benefits 100% paid for. We know because we’ve done the homework acquiring industry data from Service Leadership that gives us actual MSP salary data across thousands of businesses. However, especially in a labor shortage, some employers will pay excessively to find talent. Our company could not sustain paying the sometimes 40% over market rate to the team member who may have been poached without leaving the couch. It is absolutely not that I don't care, I just can't compete against that insanity of such a tight labor market. Our industry simply does not have enough talent in IT and so we have to "build" people. And as other reviews have pointed out, we can be that "stepping stone" for people to build a career in IT. We’d prefer they start and STAY with us, so we have ascension plans that allow a new fresh out of school (or not) tech/engineer to start with us and ascend their salary adding an additional $40,000/year if not more. We continue to improve everything we do AND we strive to IMPACT everyone involved, teams, clients, community. I'm reminded of Subpar Parks, a parody account of sorts that found where people had actually 1-star Yelp reviewed our awesome National Parks. “Trees block view and there are too many gray rocks – Yosemite”. Seems this has become the place where only angry former employees go to air their grievances. I suppose happy employees appreciate the opportunity, challenge themselves to do more and grow, and be the change they want to see in a company. If you’re curious about the reality of our company and the growth opportunity, come talk to us. Come talk to me. Stephen

Pros

Great people, excellent leadership, kind clientele. They take great care of their employees via benefits, flexibility, upward mobility, promoting health, free lunches and stocked kitchen, good communication. There is a strong emphasis on results in this organization. Do great work and you will succeed. The company has been growing at a rapid pace since its inception, and it's not hard to see why.

Kontras

The work load can be overwhelming at times, but you have a team to collaborate with and learn from, and extensive documentation of common issues and their resolution. If you are built for fast-pace rapid-fire solutions, you will do well here.
