Pros

Thankfully I wasn't there long enough to have my reputation ruined.

Kontras

The coursework is NOT in any way based on basic nutritional needs. The fact that the "Blood Type Diet" (late 90's fad diet craze) has a place in the curriculum shows this is only a money making venture. If you want to get a real nutrition education, including a solid background in the science behind it, go to EatRight.org. Only there will you be able to get an ACTUAL Degree and not simply a paid for "certification". When it comes to health, a quick fix education on alternative nutrition is not a good idea. What is a "health coach" anyway? Personally, if someone has the cash for this course, they would be better served going and getting a Dietetic degree from an accredited college. Lots of universities have Dietitian programs, then, you will actually HAVE credentials to coach someone on their diet. Good luck trying to get a job with this "certification", it is worthless in the real world. I know someone that was "coach" for about 9 months. She made no money and is now working a regular job. Money wasted.

I am a current employee and a graduate of the Integrative Nutrition (IIN) Health Coach Training Program. IINs workforce is made up of about 30% graduates and the program is offered to all staff interested in enrolling. Currently, about 28% of our staff are eager to graduate! IIN introduces a comprehensive curriculum with over 150 different dietary theories in the year-long coursework to become a Health Coach, not just the one mentioned in this post. The program combines counseling techniques with real-world business training. Its unique nutrition philosophy takes a holistic approach to wellness and encourages students to consider relationships, work, exercise, and spirituality as essential to building good health. The curriculum is taught by over 200 leading experts in the fields of nutrition, health, and wellness including Deepak Chopra, Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Walter Willet and Gabby Bernstein. And the program has graduated successful Health Coaches such as Elizabeth Rider, Sarah Wilson and Angelle Batten. Eatright.org is the website for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This is the dietitian’s group often in the news because they accept millions of sponsorship dollars from Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Kellogg’s and they also allow those companies to teach courses to their dietitian members. IIN’s coursework is facilitated by the best and brightest minds in health and wellness and does not operate like the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The Health Coach Training Program combines holistic nutrition with real-world business training. I know many students and graduates that look forward to, or are already practicing with a thriving business. There are many flaws in this person’s post and aligning IIN with a junk food funded association is nowhere near accurate.

Pros

The leadership is very empathic, and the women who ran with place did so with love and power. Everyone wanted to succeed for them because of how wonderful their leadership was.

Kontras

Bought by evil venture capitalist firm who gutted the place and turned it from a school to an e-commerce course. Clearly they are in someway tied up with big pharma because they really have killed the message and movement behind.
