Pros
Large company, big focus on professional development, lots of opportunities to grow if you demonstrate willingness to do so. Support systems are in place to ensure staff understand what they need to do to succeed, and HC One have structured their head office around providing support when homes face challenges. Work culture is majority friendly, and people are supportive of those who achieve their goals. I have worked with HC One for a number of years and can reflect very positively on how the culture has developed within the company since James Tugendhat became CEO, but this was further driven by acceptance that care should be person-centered across the company alongside a shift towards acceptance and honest, open communication.
Kontras
Pay could be better, although they have aimed to address this somewhat. Sometimes find it difficult to take a break on the clinical side, although care staff are supported to ensure they take breaks.
