Pros
- my direct manager and peers were great - helping people improve their lives is always very fulfilling - we were mostly left alone to do as we saw fit as long as we were performing well - fully remote, benefits are decent
Kontras
- it legitimately feels bad to provide the current product, feels like ripping students off - continually laying people off in small numbers to pretend it's not happening and keep a happy face on things - recommended to not take PTO during cohort, but they line them up back to back so you basically never get to take PTO and.... - the only company I've ever worked, including retail, at that doesn't pay out PTO; they laid off employees with upcoming surgeries, weddings, honeymoons, etc and then don't even pay out the PTO which is truly absolutely reprehensible - got bought out by Simplilearn, a giant foreign corporation, which is in turn owned by Blackstone, the ultimate big bad company - management has no idea what they're doing; a bunch of grade school teachers running an adult learning academy and destroying it just like the public education system they came from - the layoff Zoom call lasted 3 minutes and I wasn't able to get a word in edgewise, totally classless - the curriculum is embarrassing; people are paying $20k for an education and half the workshops are broken or directions don't make sense - feedback is encouraged unless it's negative or goes agains the company line; an entire staff channel got nuked after someone made a complaint about the curriculum that turned into a bigger conversation - business is obviously on the decline as they continually cancel or push back new cohort start dates, layoffs are sure to continue - overall, management totally disregards what more experienced ICs have to say to the detriment of all and eventually resulting in those ICs being laid off since there are no longer enough students to support the number of instructors
