- still a lot of talented and motivated engineers left to work with - possibly more streamlined and realigned engineering collective post redundancies

- skeleton crew left: a morale-devastating engineering-wide meeting with founder & CEO left morale at an all time low, so when redundancies came, more than half of engineering had left through Voluntary Redundancy - a lot of tech debt to pick up with less than half of original engineering remaining and massive brain drain

Hi there I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, especially on morale in the Engineering Team. Employee wellbeing and motivation are critical to our success. We are launching a number of initiatives - including an employee-led engagement committee - to make sure that everyone at Freetrade has their voices heard. Our objective is to encourage even better alignment around our short and mid-term vision as a company. As you suggest, some realignment of collectives and squads has enabled our Engineers to work in a more streamlined way, and with members of other teams outside of Engineering. This collaboration is improving the quality of our work and beginning to accelerate our ability to deliver to our customers as well as addressing areas where there is a need for improvement. Pros

You get to work on some cool tech in rapidly evolving space

Kontras

The departure of Adam Doods was the best thing that happened to the company. However, the toxicity he surrounded himself would not go away. Adam build a culture of blame, while taking all wins for himself. Kind of a boss you never want to succeed because it makes world a worse place. I can not imaging any company that could succeed like that. It is getting better. Good riddance.
