Zero career progression. Zero. Turnover rate is extremely high. No benefits or perks. You'll be required to sell with no direction and outdated resources. Materials are misleading, with incorrect information and prices, so your clients are hesitant from the start. The product and services sold are not the same during execution. There are no goals, weekly meetings, reviews, incentives or positive reinforcement tactics. The general manager will micromanage you to death, but doesn't understand the antiquated software system in order to answer questions you may have. He has no sales or marketing background so is unable to provide proper guidance on how to obtain more business. He provides no reviews or feedback, and most days you're wondering if he has a personal problem with you or if he's just miserable. He frowns upon you going to networking events or taking meetings during office hours. You're to sit at your desk and pray the phone rings so you can make a sale. Some weeks you'll work 6-7 days with no regard for a day off. Commission does not exist, you'll be overworked for no payout. Events are poorly run, food constantly runs out, and you'll be the face of every disaster, which happens often. Once they have their money, they don't care about the client experience or obtaining repeat business. You'll spend most of your time on damage control, fixing errors and putting out fires instead of growing and learning. They will ignore any suggestions on improvement or productivity. General Manager is miserable and openly sighs at the amount of work he has to do, which is minimal. Constantly talks about past employees and venue operators. His unhappiness and careless attitude are cancerous. If you have any self respect, run as fast as you can from this place. 🏃🏻
