Pros

I worked with a lot of friendly people who worked very hard and truly believed in this company and a future there.

Kontras

Avoid this company at all costs. No Pay Raises. Constant Layoffs. Upper management only cares about getting richer and doing anything to save a buck, even at the expense of getting rid of their best people. The CEO, CIO, and CFO are only concerned with how much money they make, and don't care about the people who truly make this company it's profits. It's just like the current state of what is going on in America. The 1% runs everything and keeps getting richer, while the working class cannot get ahead. My whole department was laid off and replaced with consultants to save money. The consultant that replaced me, had the nerve to call me and ask me how to do my job and asked where things were; how do I go about doing this, etc...etc... It was unreal.

Pros

I got a salary and benefits. I learned not to trust corporate to do what they say. valuable lesson.

Kontras

The CEO and board are absolutely clueless about how an oilfield service company works. they are all about money money money NOW. Understandable, but they are systematically screwing over every longterm employee who has any useful industry knowledge or experience. The refuse raises and promotions based on merit or seniority. The only way to advance at Express is threaten to quit if you don't get your way. So listen up new hires: don't sign a contract and you've basically got the keys to the kingdom. The CEO isn't wise enough to realize who the truly valuable employees are so he'll go to great lengths for any average joe who threatens to go to a competitor. Just don't expect to advance any other way. Loyalty means nothing to the decision makers here. When I left there were only a handful of employees who had been there for more than a year or two and most were working under new hires that made more money.
