Pros

- Many employees get to work from home - Good pay compared to other health plans - Decent benefits - Lots of flexibility depending on team/manager - Hard workers get rewarded, slackers get let go - For a company in one of the most conservative industries, I will say Anthem does a lot to encourage inclusiveness not just through the business resource groups, but more importantly through the onboarding training and every day interactions afterwards. I work from home, but when at the corporate offices, I see many forms of self expression, from jeans to sleeve tattoos, which makes for a more interesting workplace. - While the organization is not flat, leadership is approachable and there is a huge movement to shift decision rights and opportunities to lead throughout the organization, so growth opportunities are everywhere.

Kontras

- Can be longer hours compared to working for other health plans, especially for work from home employees - Health benefits could be better

Pros

Good Benefits and insurance Groceries benefit School reimbursement Gym benefits Hospital indemnity Insurance Remote work convenience

Kontras

Pay rate never really goes up. Prefer to promote inexperience outsiders than from within. Low pay At the whim of Manager Favoritism Political Pretentious Metrics based of friendship with Management Hard to move up of you don’t suck up to a Manager or be political or be part of their click and group. QIP is also at the whim of the manager. Faulty metrics where you are blamed for FCR failures even when you fixed the issue on your first call and but because the member called in multiple times to other associates who didn’t help. Or do their job, they blame you for first call resolution when you never talked to the member till you resolved it. This is really messed up and it affects your QIP.
