The company is run like a startup but they are scaling to a larger size and the current processes likely won't support the new client-base. People are overworked and almost everything is presented as a top priority, which makes for a toxic work environment where the general expectation seems to be that you overwork yourself to meet the needs of the company. Working over on occasion is one thing, but it's more of the norm here. Communication is lacking / non-existent.
