Pros

Nothing really, this place stinks so bad.

Kontras

This company exemplifies everything wrong with corporate leadership today. If you're searching for a toxic, utterly incompetent environment where management is nothing more than a bloated, backstabbing group of failures, this is the place. The so-called "management team" – including HR, Dev Managers, and the self-proclaimed "strategists" – is nothing short of a disaster. Their ineptitude is not only staggering, but it's actively destroying the company's culture, morale, and long-term viability. Let’s begin with the founders. It’s painfully obvious that they’re detached from reality. They’ve completely lost any semblance of passion or vision for the company. They talk a big game about "company culture" and "transparency," but it's all a front. They’ve perfected the art of saying the right things in public, but behind the scenes, they're nowhere to be found when tough decisions need to be made. Any initiative to foster transparency is merely a smokescreen to distract from the fact that the leadership is a complete and utter failure. The management team? A parade of underachievers clinging to their positions out of sheer desperation. Most of them couldn’t hold a job elsewhere because their incompetence is so glaring that no competent company would tolerate it. So, instead, they’ve taken refuge here, playing petty office politics and backstabbing anyone who threatens their fragile positions. These "leaders" have zero capacity for decision-making, and their role seems to be limited to perpetuating their own self-interest through gossip, manipulation, and petty power plays. They spend more time undermining each other than actually leading. The company’s financial decisions are equally laughable. The founders have no problem throwing away sizable revenue on failing startups and pet projects, while rewarding the inept management team with lavish bonuses that they don’t remotely deserve. Meanwhile, the hardworking engineers – the ones actually responsible for the company’s survival – are consistently denied raises, recognition, or even the slightest token of appreciation. It's a grotesque display of misplaced priorities. When the company was firing top-tier employees like the CFO and engineers, the leadership had the gall to offer themselves a pat on the back, congratulating themselves on how well they’ve "managed" the company into the ground. The fact that they haven’t yet been shown the door is a testament to how utterly broken this place is. And let’s talk about the culture – or rather, the complete absence of one. The so-called "culture" is nothing more than a carefully crafted illusion, a façade to trick employees into believing they’re part of something meaningful. In reality, it’s a breeding ground for hypocrisy, false promises, and empty rhetoric. Any attempt at addressing real issues – like asking difficult questions in town halls or on internal forums – is swiftly dismissed, met with condescension or outright hostility. When employees dare to push back, they’re labeled troublemakers, and the leadership circles their wagons to protect their own egos and positions. This company is a textbook example of corporate mismanagement, where the blind lead the blind, and the ones doing the real work are discarded like expendable assets. If there was any sense of accountability, the leadership would have been ousted long ago. Instead, the founders continue to reward their failure, and the management continues to collect undeserved bonuses while undermining the people who actually contribute to the company’s survival. In conclusion, this company is a ticking time bomb. It’s a place where mediocrity is rewarded, incompetence is tolerated, and employees are left to deal with the fallout. Anyone considering working here should think twice – because this is a prime example of a company rotting from the top down, with no clear path to recovery.

Acknowledging your response here together with the fact that we’re reviewed the details and can’t reconcile most of the details in your review (for example, our records show no Perth-based engineer departures in the period referenced), we’ve asked Glassdoor to review this post as it goes against its own guidelines. For anyone reading: all of the information in this review is inaccurate and untrue. Decisions about pay, promotions and staffing are made through documented processes with multiple reviewers; questions can be raised anonymously via our regular engagement surveys and at company forums, and we publish follow-ups and actions after each forum; recognition of employees is encouraged through many different mechanisms; and the leadership team have not received a bonus in 3 years, in favour of supporting salary increases for employees. DiUS is a proudly respectful workplace. Disagreement and differences in opinions are always welcome; personal attacks are not. And sharing that our latest company-wide (anonymous) engagement survey, which closed three weeks ago, has landed with a favourable score of 77%. If you’ve worked here, past or present, we encourage you to share your experience so people see a balanced view.

Pros

- DiUS was a great place to work, with a fantastic culture of genuine, down-to-earth engineers and management who want to do interesting work; - This has created a environment where curiosity is encouraged and people have an opportunity to work on genuine leading edge technologies or commercialisation of solutions with their start-up ventures. - There's a wealth of experience within the firm, including developing new technologies, how to apply it to specific business challenges, and the best ways to deploy them - The CFO role was a great way to see how new technologies are changing business and how to scale tech ventures properly; the successful growth and exit of Pactflow to Smartbear is a testament to the strategic rigour DiUS can deliver.

Kontras

- The pace of change can be fast - staff need to be comfortable with some ambiguity and pivoting when circumstances shift; - The business is exposed to the ups and downs of the tech cycle - which has obviously been a greater theme in Australia over the last few years. In some instances there were quieter periods where work was slower or rightsizing was needed. Management do their best to manage the impacts of this with transparency,

Pros

I've been working here at DiUS for over 7 years now, and can say that it has been my favourite place to work so far in my career. Even though there has been some hard times in the last few years, the people and managers that work here are very supportive. It's hard to find a company that really cares, and that's always been my experience at DiUS - everyone is very nice, people listen and care about what I have to say, everyone just wants to do a good job and make the clients happy. Management are pretty good at being transparent with what is happening in the market and how it impacts our clients and our work, and we have regular All Hands meetings where we can hear business and strategy updates, and ask questions. We have started working more in the client's office this year, up to 3 days a week if we have a team in Sydney. We also have the option to work from the shared sydney office, which has a good vibe, but sometimes you don't have a desk so need to plan when to work there. There has always been a strong focus on new tech, and it's all about AI now. We get a chance to upskill internally, and have a lot of new projects that use or build AI for clients, which is pretty cool.

Kontras

The social side has changed since covid, and it's harder for people to come together in the same place now as we are all spread out working with clients or at home. And we have so many new people that have joined the sydney team in the last year, it's hard to get to know them when we're all busy at clients. Sometimes the work we do with clients is more about helping them fill a skills gap instead of developing a product or solution. You need to be a self starter or you might get left behind - the company expects everyone to invest some personal time in learning and upskilling.
