We hear that you have felt that our leadership team has been insincere in our commitment to integrating the input of both current and past DP employees into shaping our culture and policies. While we know that we are not likely to shift your viewpoint here in this response, we want to reiterate that we highly value our employees and their contributions. We strive to create a work environment that honors their time, commitment, and expertise while providing opportunities that align with their skills. Recent months have been incredibly difficult operationally due to circumstances well outside the agency’s control. There has been a lot of feedback from our teams requesting solutions that require us to advocate with other organizations and state partners as we are unable to take direct action to solve them (despite our deep desire to do otherwise). We assure you and others looking to share their talents with our incredible organization that the professional well-being and job satisfaction of our employees are top priorities for us, and we find it crucial that staff feels valued and respected and have a sense of belonging within our organization. Likewise, our management team is dedicated to providing support, ensuring team members feel heard, and embracing diverse perspectives. 4 day work week Generous PTO Family Friendly Remote work options Competent and responsive leadership This is my 3rd time working with DP. It is experiencing many organizational changes but I appreciate that the leadership team remains calm and collected even under immense change, chaos, and stress. Many of the stressors are attributed to state influence. I can’t imagine a better place to work after spending multiple years in a very toxic and dangerous work environment. This organization likes to highlight all the good work they do for individuals with disabilities but the leadership truly changes lives for employees as well. If you surround yourself with the people that want to improve and focus on the positive you will love working here.

There are not many cons to working here. You might not get paid as much as you would like but there are a lot of opportunities to advance. There are disgruntled employees like in every work place and it can be very toxic when they are given a platform to share (complain). Be prepared to experience changes and build resiliency. If you are able to adapt and view challenges as learning opportunities then you will do well.
