You sometimes feel isolated working alone although there is Video Conferencing and so on but there is a pro in that as well wherein you can get to spend more time with your family. You have to be disciplined as no one will tell you what to do so you may at time tend to be lazy. The global thing is sometimes an issue as you have meetings at odd hours at time but that can be managed by being proactive about re-scheduling meetings. People do understand that everyone does not work US time.
