If you are looking to advance your career, this is the last place to look. The current state of the company is very chaotic and disorganized. Marketing and Sales might as well install a revolving door because they can't keep talent. The Engineering side is in the process of being outsourced overseas because they can't pay a competitive wage. There is so much turnover in engineering that management is completely reliant on the staff working nights and weekends to keep up with unrealistic deadlines set by engineering managers that don't understand code. The HR department is a joke. If you say or go against anyone or any idea from the "inner circle," you are either ignored or harshly reprimanded. The CEO is a nice enough guy, but he is just renting his house near the HQ, so that when the company is sold, he can move back home when he is done. There is so much micro-management that we have 1 manager to 2-3 people. When you go to work, expect that at least 40-60% of your time to be spent in meeting after meeting after meeting. If I had to describe the state of the company, I would say that at an engineering level, the company is barely holding together and senior management is trying to slap lipstick on a pig to make the company look attractive enough to dump it off and make money from their shares. I can not see this company still being around if it does not sell within 3-5 years. Compensation is laughable at best. Company has not given any raises in 3 years and claims its not in the budget. Meanwhile, they have opened an additional engineering office in India and have hired over 14 people, while laying off or eliminating jobs in Florida. Management is blind if they think people can't see what is really going on here. The sad part is, it was not always like this. This company used to respect and value their employees until about 4 years ago when the new CEO took over and brought in an disgraced Ex-Citrix Senior Manager to oversee all RnD. From that point forward, the company switched from valuing people to valuing "measurable metrics." If you are looking for a job where they do not value your personal time or you don't want to make much money, this is the place for you. If you are looking to gain experience in your craft and want work that is actually challenging, I implore you to look elsewhere. Its just not worth working here.
