      - Having the opportunity to work in a beautiful hotel/venue. - Supporting and collaborating with local businesses.

      When first employed you are sold the dream of further development and opportunity, however that is quickly taken away with the lack of structure yet high expectation of doing multiple roles at a low pay grade with no support from management. Management teams (especially in the Sydney head office) have a superiority complex and take little initiative to lead or train their staff. When mistakes arise from the lack of training and direction, management teams play the blame game in order to save themselves instead of acting like leaders. Human Resources are understaffed, and protect internal bullies from any disciplinary action and take too long to follow up on important culture issues brought to their attention. Management team tight on money and try and run the hotel at the absolute bare minimum. Pay below industry average. Multiple cliques within the hotel which makes the workplace culture toxic.

      Pros

      Great team, beautiful venue, and an excellent company to work for. The company genuinely values its employees and invests in staff development, career progression, and opportunities for growth across all of its properties. The staff Green Room is a great perk as well, fully equipped with appliances, two TVs, and stocked daily with food, fresh bread, drinks, cookies, crackers, and ice blocks. Management are supportive, approachable, and encourage employees to grow and progress within the company.

      Kontras

      No car parks onsite but its understandable as the venue needs to provide parks to the guest. There is plenty of parking externally so its not that bad.

      Pros

      Supportive and innovative brand with exceptional career opportunities. Staff benefits are a great perk and the company really nurtures talent and prioritises advancement and training through Crystalbrook Campus and many other wonderful initiatives.

      Group wide onboarding experience. I believe there is great opportunity to refine and set the expectation for our Collaborators in this space, in addition to our online training prior to commencement. I am excited about the prospect of refining this part of the employee journey, with the work underway already.
